Abstract

|
Annular pancreas is a rare congenital anomaly capable of producing varying degrees of mechanical obstruction of the duodenum, characterized by double bubble sign on the simple abdomen X-ray.
Two cases of annular pancreas causing duodenal obstruction in 21 months boy, 15 years old boy were treated successfully by duodenojejunostomy and gastrojejunostomy at Kyungpook National University Hospital.
With this cases report, historical background, embryology, symptomatology, and method of surgical procedures from literatures are discussed in this paper.
